into the estuary
a slow descend

what is even happening?

do you hear the preacher
smack his muddy lips?
as we corrupt sick ligaments
engagement rings on parcel worms
and then beneath the dirt, my fingers squirm
like violins, they're cutting in

a wave
and while my limbs are growing short
I play pretend
like someone's watching from the shore
but I can not leave
these ropes are out of reach

that i have left behind, in other lives

all i see is cemeteries
and the family room
is an obituary
like violence, the cradles here

I looked into the microscope
to find that everything is dead or alone
it starts to really hurt
as I scream, these walls have ears
but they're not listening
the vultures are circling in flight
the cue cards are turning
the vending machines
have started on fire
tonight, i'm only screaming
i'm lying here for hours
but I barely breath
in the corner of the room, to myself,
i mutter and repeat it's not my fault
